Think I should add a buy it now price? Some like this go for around $500. Do you think it would deter bidders if there was a buy it now that high? I still think it’s crazy that these things sell that high, but how can I complain?

FYI, best time for auctions to finish are sunday evening, around 10 or 11pm eastern. ;)

How do you think you’ll sell this thing? not an Apple guy, but this looks pretty cool...

Do you think it would be worth it to bump it back?

If I get more than I paid for the whole lot including the Macintosh that I’m keeping I’ll be happy. Shouldn’t be hard, broken ones are going for that much on a good day. Apple guys are crazy, but apparently not enough of them on Raleigh Craigslist.

I think you’re more likely to get $250-$300 for it. $500 BIN might encourage people to bid if it makes them think the current bid is a good deal though. Whatever you do, don’t put a reserve on it - people see that and immediately close the window.

I think so... who the fuck is going to bid on your Apple 2 at 8.45am on a saturday morning ?? :)

You need to target the times of the week withe most traffic and when people are on their computer (aka sunday evening, don’t want to go to sleep, but have work tomorrow and can’t go out, therefore bidding on ebay)

:)

And reserve costs money. And yeah, I’d be really happy with $250, I just don’t want to set a buy it now too low. I think I’ll just leave it for now, let it run it’s course.

Alright, I guess I can push it back. You make a good point. I’m just really excited.

Start the auction tomorrow around 10-11pm eastern so that it can finish sunday around 10-11pm. Statistically the best moment of the week to finish an auction. And do a 0.99cts auction. It tends to attract people a lot more and I think it’s fair to say your Apple 2 with go for more than 50$ anyway.

I don’t like buy it now auctions with a reserve...you either have to tell people the reserve is well below the BIN to make them bid (and nobody will use it), or people see a high BIN and assume the reserve is close to it.

Lately I've been going with the $.99 start with a reserve, or a straight BIN with best offer.
